One of the most sought-after tourist attractions near the Nawab's City of Hyderabad is the massive Nagarjuna Sagar in Andhra Pradesh state. While you are in Hyderabad and plan for a day trip, the first name that should strike your mind is "Nagarjuna Sagar".  Situated about 150 kms from Hyderabad, Nagarjuna Sagar makes an awesome place to visit. There we can have a boat journey from srisailam dam to  nagarjun sagar is a 3 days journey through waterways, It costs 3000 to 5000 per head depending on the season.

"Nagarjuna Sagar" owes its name as 'Nagarjuna' from Nagarjuna, the founder of the Madhyamika ("Middle Path") school and as 'Sagar' as the great River Krishna forms a massive water body here. Sagar is basically a Hindi word for 'sea'. The huge Nagarjuna Sagar Dam, the Nagarjunakonda, the Ethipothala Waterfalls, the Buddhist site Anupu and Karampudi about 35kms from Macheral- a small village famous for the temple of Chennakesava Swami are all the major attractions of Nagarjuna Sagar.
